Old Library (CB 521)
THE OLD LIBRARY
The Old Library (CB 521) serves the RISD community in a variety of ways, including regularly scheduled classes, performances, art installations, lectures, meetings, and sound arts classes. The unique setting of this space has been augmented with specialist theatrical lighting and multi-channel sound system to create an adaptive and powerful performance environment.
The Old Library has a seated capacity of 50 people.
NOTE: If alcohol is being served (see here for RISD’s alcohol use policy) the Mezzanine level may not be used or accessed.

LOCATION AND ACCESS
The Old Library is located on the 5th Floor of the College Building, one level above the Division of Liberal Arts offices.
The general point of approach is from the Benefit Street entrance to the College Building (236 Benefit Street).
The accessible entrance to the Old Library for people with restricted mobility is through the College Street entrance to College Building (2 College Street) and via the elevator to the fifth floor. Exiting the elevator turn left and travel down the corridor, through two sets of swing doors, to the Old Library.
