Cavicchi Publishes Essay on Audience History

Daniel Cavicchi (Associate Provost, Research|Global|Practice) published an essay, entitled, Foundational Discourses of Fandom, in A Companion to Fandom and Fan Studies, edited by Paul Booth and published by Wiley. The essay argues that by making explicit fandom’s links to nineteenth-century discourses of mania, selfhood, and the crowd, scholars may enable broader narratives of fandom’s history and extend the scope of fan studies’ field of inquiry.
