Diversity & Inclusion Workshops for Faculty

Academic Affairs would like to highlight two upcoming faculty workshops arranged in partnership with RISD ISE and the MLK Committee.

Lee Mun Wah
An Unfinished Conversation Diversity Conversations in the Classroom
Wednesday, October 18th 2017, 8:30AM-11:30AM
Tap Room, 4th Floor Memorial Hall

So many times educators are afraid to begin a conversation on diversity issues because they have had a bad experience or feel they will say something wrong or hurtful. This seminar is one of Lee Mun Wah’s most exciting and satisfying ones, because it helps everyone practice talking to someone who is different from themselves in a compassionate and honest way.

RSVP Required

Robyn Ochs
Changing Landscapes & Beyond Binaries
Wednesday, October 25th 2017, 9:30AM-11:30AM
Tap Room, 4th Floor Memorial Hall

How do we assign labels to our complicated and unique experiences of sexuality? In this interactive program, we will explore the landscape of sexuality, conduct a thought-provoking anonymous survey of those present, and look together at the data. The workshop is designed to expand your understanding and knowledge of LGBTQIAP communities.

RSVP Required
