Franz Solo Exhibition at David Winton Bell Gallery, Brown U.

Kai Franz (Assistant Professor, Experimental and Foundation Studies) will present new and recent works at the David Winton Bell Gallery in List Arts Center at Brown University.

While Still Before Us After All places Franz’s art in conversation with the architecture of List Art Building, designed by iconic American modernist Philip Johnson. New sculptures included here were conceived in response to the grids of concrete, stone, and wood in the List Art lobby. The sculptures are reminiscent of the texture and tone of Brutalist concrete architecture, yet the variability and dynamics of their forms appear organic and expressive.

The exhibition will be on display from 10th June, 2017 – 9th July, 2017.

Opening reception: JUNE 9, 5:30PM–7:30PM
