Call for Proposals: Global Summer Programs

RISD is committed to developing an ever-relevant and dynamic series of off-campus global learning opportunities. During summers, RISD developed a specialized range of programs that engage RISD degree students, as well as external audiences. These programs are a component of RISD’s internationalization and global engagement initiatives.
In summer 2016, RISD offered through Continuing Education 7 Global Summer Programs that brought over 80 students to travel to Europe and Asia. For summer 2017, through a more holistic vision of global learning experiences at RISD, the Global Sumer Programs will be managed by RISD Global, in consultation with the Associate Provost/Dean of the Faculty and Academic Affairs.

As such, all current RISD faculty (full-time and part-time) are invited to present a proposal for a 3- or 4-week course to be offered abroad from June through July 2017. The deadline for the proposal is September 30th, 2016.

The established teaching rates for Summer Global Courses are:

4 Week Class: $8,000
3 Week Class: $7,500

If the course is co-taught the compensation is split 50/50 between Faculty members. These rates include compensation for instruction and coordination of the travel course.

RISD will cover the costs of all instructor’s expenses associated with the class as well as those of the TA/RA.

DEADLINE: 30th September 2016
