Lambrecht Lecturers on The Cuetos: Four Generations of Puppeteers

Winifred Lambrecht (Senior Lecturer, History Philosophy + the Social Sciences) gave an interactive class, via Skype, to film students at Gallaudet University on the 6th April 2016, which included a screening of her filmĀ The Cuetos: Four Generations of Puppeteers. After the screening Lambrecht took part in an American Sign Language Q&A session with students.

Gallaudet University is a federally chartered private institution for the education of the deaf and hard of hearing located in Washington, DC.

The Cuetos: Four Generations of PuppeteersĀ was produced in Mexico in 2006 with Peter O’Nell (Professor, Film Animation + Video). It’s subject is the Cueto family of puppeteers from Mexico City, who over four generations, from the 1930s to the present, have been inventing and performing puppet shows and training puppeteers to create the modern face of Mexican puppetry.
