Silbert Appointed Curator at Corning Museum of Glass
Susie Silbert (Lecturer, Glass) has been appointed as the Curator of Modern and Contemporary Glass by the Corning Museum of Glass (Corning, NY), replacing Tina Oldknow who held the position from 2000 to 2015.
In her work as an independent curator, writer, and historian, Silbert has developed an encyclopedic knowledge of glass and strong connections to people in the field. As Curator she will be responsible for the acquisition, exhibition, cataloging, and research of the Museum’s modern and contemporary collection, which spans 1900 to the present day, and contains close to 18,000 objects.
Silbert will also oversee programming for the 26,000 sq. ft. Contemporary Art + Design Galleries, part of a 100,000-sq. ft. addition, which opened in March 2015.
