Current Research Opportunities:
What: Creature Conserve, Rhode Island School of Design (Division of Liberal Arts and Department of Illustration), and the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) invite RISD faculty, alumni, students and other members of the RISD Community to submit proposals for a gallery show, “Wildlife: Trading and Conservation.”
When: Proposals are due April 1, 2016, artwork due (in gallery) July 4, 2016.
How much: This is a unique opportunity for artists to learn about the ways wildlife trade impacts a particular animal species, via initial self-directed research and in collaboration with scientists and wildlife experts, including IFAW staff.
Guggenheim Memorial Foundation Accepting Fellowship Applications From Artists and Scholars
What: The annual fellowship program seeks to further the development of scholars and artists by helping them engage in research and creation in any field of knowledge or artistic discipline, except the performing arts
When: For the United States and Canada competition, the deadline is September 18, 2016.
How much: Grant amounts vary, and the foundation does not guarantee it will fully fund any project. Fellowships provide grants to selected individuals over a period ranging between six and twelve months. Approximately 200 Fellowships are awarded each year.
What: Internship grants to assist companies in the life sciences and engineering sectors defray the costs of providing student internships and mentoring to eligible Rhode Island residents attending a college or university in Rhode Island.
When: Applications are due June 30, 2016 at 4:30 PM ET.
How much: Internship grants up to $3,000.
