Taborska reinterprets classics
The best literature for children is also for adults. Agnieszka Taborska’s (Senior Lecturer, HAVC) most recent book, “The Black Imp and Other Sprites”, belongs to this category. In a witty, poetic, and feminist way, it rewrites the tradition, providing a surprising reinterpretation of classic motifs and adjusting them to the sensibility of modern readers. Designed by world-famous artist, Lech Majewski, it combines a highly innovative text based on Slavic fairy tales with modern illustrations inspired by Polish folk art. It won the award for the Best Children’s Book published in Poland in 2014.
