Bergstein Lectures at Cornell and University of Toronto
Mary Bergstein (Professor, History of Art + Visual Culture) spoke on “Visual Culture in Freud’s Vienna: Photography and Eros” at The DeWitt Wallace Institute for the History of Psychiatry at Weill Cornell Hospital in New York on 16 October.

She also delivered a lecture at the University of Toronto on 26 October at an international conference about “The Optical Unconscious in Photography.” Her topic was “Proust and the Preconscious: The Photographic Construction of Odette in ‘In Search of Lost Time.'”
