Cavicchi Featured in New York Times

Daniel Cavicchi (Interim Dean, Liberal Arts) had two of this books featured as part of a piece on “The Art of Writing About Listening” in the New York Times last week. “Listening and Longing: Music Lovers in the Age of Barnum” describes the institutionalization of concert listening in 19th-century America. “My Music,” edited by Cavicchi and two others, is a book of interviews with average listeners about how they use and value music in their daily lives.
