Presidential Speaker Series – Hal Abelson

Dear RISD Community:

The first event in our 2013 Speaker Series is just a few weeks away, so I am writing to invite you all to join me for speaker Hal Abelson on Wednesday, February 20.

Series #1

Date: Wednesday, February 20

Time: 7:30 PM

Location: RISD Auditorium

Speaker: Hal Abelson

The RISD Presidential Speaker Series offers a forum for welcoming some of the most expansive thinkers of our times to campus. Each is a master of his or her domain but is also ready to transcend it, sharing the RISD community’s own belief in the fruitful exchange of ideas that happens when artists, designers, activists, scientists and other scholars really talk and listen to each other. Faculty co-hosts Professors Shona Kitchen and Kevin Zucker will engage the speaker with the campus and students during his visit.

The public conversation, the centerpiece of each speaker’s visit, will take place in the evening and is open to the RISD and local communities.

Please mark your calendars for Wednesday, February 20th at 7:30 PM in the RISD Auditorium, and visit the link below to reserve your seat. Admission will be free of charge, but advanced registration is necessary and offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

I look forward to seeing you at Shared Voices.

Best wishes,

John Maeda
