Academic Commons Project (ACP) grants

Academic Affairs is pleased to inform all faculty of an exciting new opportunity, one that helps us to support and advance our “Teaching + Learning: Dynamic, innovative academic programs” section of the Strategic Plan. This summer, RISD received a $160,000 grant from the Davis Foundation, allowing us to launch the Academic Commons Project (ACP), a two-year pilot program designed to inspire and support integrative teaching and learning at RISD and contribute to college-wide academic planning.

The ACP awards fellowships and grants to full- and part-time faculty, graduate students, and recent post-grads with an emphasis on creating new projects, workshops, or events centered on undergraduate integrative learning, with particular interest in approaching interdisciplinary and writing instruction in new ways. The first call for proposals deadline is November 1. The attached PDF includes a detailed description of the project, guidelines, and an application form.
