Graduate Studies – Support for Student Conference Participation Announced
Starting in Fall 2012 Graduate Studies will be offering a new program to support graduate student participation in academic and professional conferences and symposia.
To receive support through this program you must be a full-time graduate student, in good academic standing, and have a confirmed invitation to publically present your work. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis starting August 15, 2012. Students are eligible to receive conference fund support no more than once per academic year.
Proposals must include:
1. Description of the conference including conference name, dates, location, and sponsoring organization
2. Formal confirmation and description of your participation in the conference. If you are presenting a scholarly paper please include Title and Abstract.
3. Letter of support from your Graduate Program Director. The letter should confirm the significance of the event, the value of participation to your academic and professional development, and detail the department’s financial contribution to expenses.
4. Total budget for travel, accommodations, and conference fees. Be sure to include all in-kind, personal, and departmental/divisional contributions. Please note that the fund can only support travel to and from the conference site, accommodations, and conference fees. It will not cover meals, per diems, fabrication or transportation of materials, or other incidental costs.

Each recipient must submit a brief post-conference report to the Dean of Graduate Studies, no later than June 30, 2013. Expenses will not be reimbursed until this report is filed.
