Deborah Bright is Pratt's new Chair of the Fine Arts

Deborah Bright (Professor, Photography and History of Art+Visual Culture)  has been appointed Chair of the Fine Arts Department at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY. As Chair, she will oversee graduate and undergraduate programs in six disciplinary areas (painting, sculpture, drawing, printmaking, ceramics and jewelry) and work closely with the Dean and 13 other department heads in the School of Art and Design. Deborah joined the RISD faculty in 1989 with a joint appointment in HAVC and Photography. She has served RISD in many different capacities over the years including Acting Dean of Fine Arts. In 2010 she was named Honored Educator by her professional organization, the Society for Photographic Education. We wish Deborah the very best as she begins this new chapter in her distinguished career as an artist and educator.
