RISD nominees for New England Journal of Aesthetic Research Awards

Debra Balken (Lecturer, Graduate Studies) has been nominated for awards in three categories of the New England Journal of Aesthetic Research’s New England Art Awards: “Book by a local writer about local art” for her book “John Marin: Modernism at Midcentury”; Historical Show ¬†and Solo Show for “John Marin: Modernism at Midcentury,” Portland Museum of Art.

Joshua Enck (Critic, Furniture + Foundation Studies) has been nominated for an award in the Sculpture category.

Nathaniel Walker (Lecturer, History of art and Visual Culture) has been nominated in the Historical Show category for “Building Expectation: Past and Present Visions of the Architectural Future,” Brown University’s Bell Gallery.”

John Maeda and Becky Bermont have been nominated in the “Book by a local writer about local art” category for “Redesigning Leadership”.

Damian Cote (Critic, Printmaking) has been nominated in the category of Public exposure (public performance, sculpture, etc) for his Public exposure (public performance, sculpture, street art, scandalous arrest, etc.
