Professional Development Fund Fall 2011 cycle call for proposals
During the past year the Professional Development Fund has provided support for Mariah Proctor-Tiffany’s research for her book on Clemence of Hungary, Catherine Andreozzi and Kathleen Grevers’ research on Chinese knitwear technology and production techniques; and Shawn Greenlee’s field research on animal communication and bioacoustics. A wide spectrum of other creative and scholarly projects were also funded by the Professional Development Grant Fund.
Since its inception, the Professional Development Fund has granted more than $1,500,000 in release time, research, travel, and creative projects. Awards usually range from $1000 – $5000, with an average of $2400. $37,500 will be disbursed during the Fall application cycle.
The Professional Development Grant Committee urges all faculty, librarians and museum curators to submit applications for research and creative projects to be undertaken between January 1 and June 30, 2012.
The deadline for complete proposals is 11:59pm Wednesday, November 2, 2011.
