Hansy Better appointed to Massachusetts Designer Selection Board Panel
Hansy Luz Better (Assistant Professor, Architecture) was recently appointed by the Governor of Office to serve on the Designer Selection Board Panel for the Massachusetts Division of Capital Asset Management (DCAM).The Division of Capital Asset Management (DCAM) is the state agency responsible for major public building construction and real estate services for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The Designer Selection Board (DSB) is an autonomous eleven member board that selects designers for public building construction throughout the Commonwealth. Eight members are appointed by the Governor, three of whom are registered architects, three registered engineers, and two representatives of the public who are not architect designers, engineers, or construction contractors.
Studio Luz’s competition proposal for Mayor Menino’s E+ Green Building Demonstration Program: Promoting the next generation of high performance deep green buildings is on exhibition at the McCormick Gallery, Boston Architectural Center, Boston, MA. Studio Luz’s proposal “Union Square Performance Area” is being exhibited at the BEA International Gallery as part of a larger group exhibit titled Small Scale at the Florida International University, School of Architecture, Miami, FL. The exhibition will begin on September 15, 2011 and conclude October 27, 2011.
