Artist and Designer Julie Beck will teach the May PAD Workshop Increase Your Web Presence
Learn ways to make the web work for you.  Multimedia artist and designer Julie Beck will give a basic overview of ways to sell your artwork online and build your audience and client base.  She will provide tips on how to increase your visibility online through free sites and direct traffic to your personal website.  This workshop will be useful to artists who already have a website or who are planning to create an online presence for their arts business.  This Workshop is Free.

Legal Tools of the Trade: Copyrights, Licensing and Creative Property Law

What are the differences between “all rights reserved” “some rights reserved” “fair use” and “in the public domain”?  How do you determine whether you should pursue legal protection for your creative work and, if so, what are the first steps you should take?  Amy Rice Esq. will provide a basic overview of the range of legal protections available to artists and creatives.  By the end of this workshop those in attendance will have a better understanding of how copyright law is relevant to their arts practice and they will know what resources are available to them for next steps.  This workshop is presented in partnership with the Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts program of the RI Bar Association.
