Daniel Heyman at Philadelphia Museum of Art and more

The work of Daniel Heyman (Critic, Printmaking) has been selected for “Here and Now: Prints, Drawings, and Photographs by Ten Philadelphia Artists” for the Berman/Stieglitz Gallery at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. The show was curated by Innis Shoemaker and will be up September 10- December 4, 2011.

Heyman’s work is also on view in 3 group exhibitions taking place this Spring.

“Collateral Damage: Scenes from a War” at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, April 2 – July 24, 2011. Heyman works include: Disco Mosul, Abu Ghraib Detainee Interview Project, drypoint, 2006. The show, curated by Dennis John, is an important look at print artists’ reaction to war over the ages.

“Cultural Activism in a Time of Crisis” at the M. Rosetta Hunter Gallery, Seattle Central Community College, April 4 – May 6, 2011. Heyman works include: “ A friend of mine was arrested,” from the Abu Ghraib Detainee Interview Project, watercolor and pencil, 2006.

“SHOUT! for Women Vets” at Hilliard Architects Inc. & Gallery, San Francisco, May 6 – June 30, 2011. Heyman’s works include: “Gary Noling,” from the Survivors of Military Sexual Assault Portrait Project, gouache and watercolor on paper, 2011; “Jessica Kenyon,” gouache and watercolor on paper, 2011; and “Panayiota Bertzikis,” (seen here) gouache and watercolor on paper, 2011.
