Donna Bruton in Networks

Donna Bruton (Professor, Painting) will show her painting “Calculations” (below)  in  “NetWorks” a multi-disciplinary showcase of work by contemporary Rhode Island visual artists curated by collector Dr. Joseph Chazan. “Networks” will also feature the work of Ben Anderson, Leslie Bostrom, Coral Bourgeois, Daniel Clayman, Yizhak Elyashiv (Critic, Foundation Studies), and Malcolm Grear (Professor Emeritus, Graphic Design). The  NetWorks exhibition will take place at The Newport Art Museum November 6, 2010 through January 17, 2011 with an opening reception for the artists to be held on Friday, November 12th, 5-7pm.

Twelve video portraits by Richard Goulis of the Networks artists premiered on October 17th at the Chace Center’s Metcalf Auditorium and will be  followed by a reception with the artists. On Friday, October 15th the producers of the video series discussed the project during a Providence Athenaeum salon. These short documentaries will begin airing on Rhode Island PBS affiliates sometime after the premiere, as part of an ongoing project developed by Chazan & Umberto Crenca of AS220, which has documented forty-two artists to date.
