James Hall named Executive Director of the Providence Preservation Society
James Hall, Assistant Director, RISD Museum of Art, has been named Executive Director of the Providence Preservation Society. As Assistant Director of the Museum since 2006, James played a vital role in the design and opening of the Chace Center, and the Chihuly at RISD and Marcel Breuer exhibitions, among many other accomplishments. Previously, James was Director of Exhibitions for the Woods-Gerry Gallery, then Director of Campus Design and Exhibitions: he founded RISD|works during his tenure as the latter. He earned his Master of Landscape Architecture degree from RISD in 1994. Over the years James has worked with nearly every academic and administrative department of RISD, a feat he navigated with professionalism and flair, and he will be missed. Please join Ann Woolsey, Interim Director, Museum of Art in the Chace Center lobby on July 6, 5-7:30pm for a celebration of James Hall’s 25 years of service to RISD!
