Lisa Young, "Free Fall", the Getty Research Institute and more…
Lisa Young, Critic, Photography and D. Graham Burnett, Professor of History, Princeton University teamed to produce “Free Fall: The Life and Times of Bud ‘Crosshairs’ MacGinitie,” a multimedia project that premiered at the Seeing from Above Conference at the Wellcome Trust in London. Part éloge, part montage, the collaborative piece is an experiment in biographical sky-diving. View “Free Fall” here: http://www.princeton.edu/history/people/display_person.xml?netid=dburnett
Young’s “Calendar” book and video were accepted into the Artist Book Collection of the Getty Research Institute.
Young’s print “Journey” is included “Transport: Phase II,” at Proteus Gowanus, an interdisciplinary gallery and reading room in Brookyn, NY. “Transport” explores “how we get there” through themes of falling, rising, rolling and changing perspective in an exhibition of art, artifacts and books. The print is part of Young’s ongoing Fortune Hunting project, a digital archive that combines the randomness of fortune cookie fortunes with the ability to sort the fortunes in a systematic way.
