Janet Sullivan passes away

Janet Wright Sullivan, Instructor, Department of English, was born on July 18, 1926 in New Orleans, Louisiana and died July 11, 2009 in Amherst, New Hampshire. She received her BA from Barnard and her MA from Brown University. Janet taught at RISD from 1956 until retiring in 1980. On occasion she team-taught with her husband George Sullivan, Professor of English. George served as Director of the European Honors Program in 1964/65 and 1965/66: Janet co-served as historian, tour guide, and organizational genius.  As was fitting for their mission, George and Janet sailed aboard the Leonardo DaVinci on their trip to assume their duties in Rome. Mrs. Sullivan was beloved for her wit and expansive hospitality. She is survived by her son Dr. Phillip Wright Sullivan, a psychiatrist practicing in Nashua, NH.
