Heddi Seibel's McInich Art Gallery exhibit

Heddi Seibel’s (Critic, Printmaking) installation “Lumber, Coal, Fawn Skins: An Exploration Revealed in Lists” was on view at the McInich Art Gallery at Southern New Hampshire University, January 21-February 27.  Seibel’s multimedia installation links supply lists from the failed 1903 Ziegler Polar Expedition, archival still and moving images, and her prints to evoke “the explorers’ faith in and dependence on the most sophisticated technologies of the time as a means to succeed and advance a human/cultural political agenda — for America to be the first to the North Pole.” A February 4th panel discussion included Seibel, Brian Roach, Senior researcher at the Global Development and Environment Institute, Tufts University and Karen Erickson – Dean, School of Liberal Arts, Southern New Hampshire University. The project was supported in part by a Professional Development Fund grant.
