RISD Global is delighted to announce that effective 1st September, 2016, Valeria Albani will assume the role of Associate Director, Off-Campus Global Learning.
Valeria brings to this role multi-lingual skills, experience living, studying and working in the United States, Western Europe and the Gulf Region, as well as a deep passion for, and commitment to, the impact of mobility and global exchange upon the work and lives of artists, designers, and architects.
She is a specialist in international communication and marketing with extensive experience in higher education. Prior to her role in RISD’s CE, Valeria was the Marketing and Communications manager for Stefano Boeri Architects (MENA region) in Doha, Qatar. And for almost a decade she oversaw a series of programs at the Istituto Europeo di Design (IED).
In her new role, Valeria will lead and oversee student advisement for off-campus global learning, the development of the global summer studies courses, and the support for all faculty-led, student-focused global learning courses at RISD. In addition, she will become a central point of contact for all RISD’s global exchange partners and a liaison for a number of departments and offices.
Student mobility, off-campus global learning, and international academic partnerships are all central to holistic approaches to global engagement in higher education, with Valeria’s arrival to RISD Global, the School is better positioned to pursue more comprehensive and proactive approaches towards internationalization.
