What: Grants will be awarded in support of research projects that investigate the health outcomes of pet ownership and/or animal-assisted activity or therapy, both for people and the animals involved.
When: The deadline for applications is Wednesday, January 27, 2016 by 11:59 p.m. EST.
How Much: Approximately $200,000 will be available for multiple grants. It is expected that between five and ten grants will be awarded.
FAWC Invites Applications for Writing Fellowships in Provincetown
What: Writing fellows are provided with a private furnished apartment and a monthly stipend of $750 at the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, Massachusetts, during the seven-month fellowship.
When: Applications for the 2016-2017 Writing Fellowship may be submitted online on or before December 1, 2015.
How Much: FAWC awards five poets and five fiction writers seven-month writing fellowships each year from October 1 through April 30.
Silicon Valley Donors Circle Issues RFP for Visual, Media, Literary Arts
What: Grants will be awarded to individual artists and organizations working to expand art opportunities for underserved populations in the Silicon Valley region. To be eligible, applicants must be nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations or individual artists with nonprofit fiscal sponsors; be based in Santa Clara or San Mateo counties; and have an annual budget of $1 million or less.
When: Applications must be received one month prior to the Donor Circle’s scheduled meetings, each of which will consider a separate artistic category. The meeting schedule is February 9, 2016, for visual arts (Application deadline: January 9, 2016); April 5, 2016, for media arts (Application deadline: March 5, 2016); and November 8, 2016, for literary arts (Application deadline: October 8, 2016).
How Much: The Donor Circle for the Arts is proud to have granted more than $441,000 to emerging arts organizations in our region since its inception in 2008.
Variety the Children’s Charity of New York Invites LOI’s for Youth Art Programs
What: Grants of up to $20,000 will be awarded for arts-related programs that have a transformative impact on the lives of children in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut.
When: Letters of Interest must be received no later than November 20, 2015. Upon review, selected applicants will be invited to submit full applications.
How Much: Variety New York awards grants of up to $20,000 per project or program. First-year applicants typically receive grants ranging between $5,000 and $10,000.
What: Panel discussion with reception to follow. Topics to be discussed: The changing funding environment. Reductions in corporate and government support for the arts.The need for reliable tracking of grant performance. The stress on artists to generate income for themselves.
When: Thursday, November 5, 2015, 6:30-8:30 pm at the Dorma Showroom, 1040 Sixth Avenue, 22nd Floor, New York, New York
How Much: Free. There is no charge for admission but all attendees must register in advance.
