The Gail Silver Memorial Lecture: Theaster Gates

The RISD Museum is pleased to present artist and innovator Theaster Gates, speaker for the 2015 Gail Silver Memorial Lecture.

Gates combines strategies of urban planning, object making, and performance. He is internationally recognized for his work on the South Side of Chicago, and is the founder of the non-profit Rebuild Foundation—producing work in museums and communities that responds creatively to the challenges of space.

Note: A limited number of tickets are available for RISD students to pick up at the Center for Student Involvement one week prior to the talk. Students must present a valid RISD student ID for one ticket each.
