Upcoming Opportunities:

Hi all,

I’d like to invite you to submit to the 2016 Collaborative Research Grants that are now open through the RI Science and Technology Advisory Council (STAC). These grants support STAC’s partnership with the National Science Foundation’s (NSF) Experimental Program for Stimulation Competitive Research (EPSCoR) of which RISD has been a part of over the past 5 years. Over $800,000 in funding will be offered to support three themes:

  • Assessment and Impacts
  • Visualization and Imaging
  • Forecasting and Management

It would be great to have a strong showing of RISD proposals! Please share far and wide.

Letters of intent are due Sept 23, 2015. Full proposals due Oct 21, 2015.

You can access the guidelines here.

Our office is here to support your submissions by helping with proposal narratives, budget and necessary approvals. Please let me know ASAP if you plan to submit and I will be happy to help with your proposal.

Best,

Josephine

News:

Please join RISD Research in congratulating some of our outstanding faculty on two recent federal awards. Brooks Hagan has received a NSF award in collaboration with Cornell University titled “Integrated Simulation of Cloth Mechanics and Appearance for Predictive Virtual Prototyping” and Scheri Fultineer, Emily Vogler and Colgate Searles have been awarded a NSF EPSCoR Track 2 grant as part of a consortium of other universities titled “Strengthening the Scientific Basis for Decision Making about Dams”, which builds upon RISD’s current EPSCoR Track 1. Congratulations to all of you!

RISD now has an MOU with Brown so that RISD researchers working with human subjects can be reviewed and approved by the Brown IRB. CITI training is available through Brown. Please check back on our website soon for more information on process and forms. In the meantime, please contact Josephine Martell at jmartell@risd.edu for more information.
