Fultineer coordinates Rocky Point opportunities

RISD Graduate Students, working with Scheri Fultineer (Associate Professor, Landscape Architecture), have been collecting examples of waterfront park developments to illustrate possible developments for the Rocky Point former amusement park area in Warwick, R.I.

With the assistance of the Rocky Point Foundation, RISD presented the first of three lectures on April 3, 2014, featuring Deborah Marton of the New York Restoration Project. At the conclusion of the series, the students will present an overview of opportunities for the land, balancing active and passive recreational use while planning for costs, projected sea level rise, and commercial use to yield funds for maintenance.

“The state is incredibly fortunate to have the support of RISD Professor Scheri Fultineer in our efforts to make the future Rocky Point Park a landmark destination,” said DEM Director Janet Coit.
