RECLAIM, REUSE, RECREATE for The Mt. Hope Learning Center
The Mt. Hope Learning Center (MHLC) is collecting gently used or surplus art supplies: brushes, paints, pencils, canvasses, drawings boards, palettes, art books, etc. that can be reused or repurposed. MHLC plans to hold a sale in the RISD Illustration Department Gallery for area students during the first week of classes in September 2012. The sale will be advertised at local universities and will be open to the public. All supplies will be sold at a significantly reduced cost. Proceeds from the event will provide scholarships for students to attend our 21st Century after school program located at King Elementary School during the 2012‐2013 academic year.
Donations may be dropped off directly at MHLC or contact Elizabeth Winangun at 401‐455‐8875 for pick‐up. MHLC is a 501 (c)(3) non‐profit organization and all in‐kind donations are tax‐deductible according to IRS guidelines.
The Mt. Learning Center (MHLC) is a grassroots educational organization located in the Mount Hope neighborhood on the East Side of Providence. The organization was founded to meet an urgent need for more educational opportunities for our youth, adults, and seniors living, working, or attending school in Mt. Hope, a traditionally underserved community. To learn more about our programs, go to: www.mthopelc.org.
