The Division of Liberal Arts and The RISD Writing Center announce Faculty workshops for Wintersession

Dear RISD faculty,

In response to faculty interest in developing writing pedagogy, Liberal Arts and the Writing Center are hosting a series of two faculty workshops this Wintersession.

Monday, January 10, 4:00-6 PM: “Creating Meaningful Writing Assignments”

Wednesday, January 12, 4:00-6 PM: “Offering Meaningful Commentary on Student Writing”

The workshops will focus on developing practical strategies to build effectiveness and efficiency in helping students improve their writing. Attending both sessions is highly recommended.

The workshops will be led by Dr. Rhoda Flaxman. Director of DOC Writing Programs at Brown University from 1987-2007, Dr. Flaxman supervised the Writing Center and directed the Writing Fellows Program at Brown before establishing Write Consulting, a Providence-based educational collaborative committed to helping higher education faculties provide excellent writing instruction across the curriculum.
