Ellen Driscoll and Agriculture Encounters

Ellen Driscoll (Professor, Sculpture) will show “Still Life” as part of the “Agriculture Encounters Sculpture” group exhibit opening at Allendale Farm in Brookline, Massachusetts on September 2, 2010 from 2-4pm.The show was curated by Allison Newsome (RISD ’83). Visit the exhibit’s website: http://aes-2010.net

This new work created with collaborators Xiaowen Wu and Sarah Ditmars is made of plastic milk and water bottles harvested by Driscoll from the recycling bins of Brooklyn.  The miniature industrial landscape, situated on a pond, speaks both to the ruins of early industry that haunt New England’s waterways and the BP Gulf of Mexico disaster.  See more of Ellen’s work at www.ellendriscoll.net
