Neal Overstrom, new Nature Lab Director

 

Neal Overstrom has been named Director of the Edna Lawrence Nature Lab. Neal holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Connecticut, a Master of Art in Zoology from Connecticut College, and a Master of Landscape Architecture from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. He served variously Curator of Exhibits, President of Aquarium Operations, Senior Vice-President, and Policy Advisor at the Mystic Aquarium. During his tenure there he was project director for the master plan and expansion that greatly expanded the Aquarium in the 90s. Neal was the University of Massachusetts Olmsted Scholar in 2009 during which he explored the intersection of technology, biology and aesthetics in the conceptual design of an education center dedicated to sustainability in the built environment. He is author of numerous articles about marine life behavior, habitats, and the built environment. Please join Foundation Studies in welcoming Neal.
