Peter Yeadon to lecture at LAbash 2010 Conference in Las Vegas, March 28–30.

Associate Professor Peter Yeadon has been invited to deliver a lecture, titled “Disruptive Matter,” at the upcoming LAbash conference. The annual conference is taking place March 28–30 at the University of Nevada Las Vegas, and will offer a diverse range of outstanding contemporary research in landscape architecture and related disciplines.

Using exemplary works by researchers and practitioners, including his own firm in New York City, Yeadon will introduce attendees to the field of nanotechnology and will focus on four ways in which designers are pursuing innovation through nanotech. Other invited speakers include: Walter Hood, Roberto Rovira, Margaret Crawford, Mia Lehrer, Matthew O’Brien, Mark Rios, Jerry van Eyck, Andy Cao, Dale Chihuly, and Pamela Burton.

Yeadon’s lecture in Vegas follows a recent lecture he gave at the Syracuse University School of Architecture, titled “Liminal Disruptions.” That presentation was part of the ongoing Technology Talks series at Syracuse, which exposes students to current building technology research and has included participation from Foster + Partners, Transsolar, Behnisch Architekten, Seele, Accentech, and others.
